trust the timing of life

Do you “Trust the Timing” of your Life? “Trust the timing” is a phrase, that you hear often by elderly and experienced people from various religions and spiritual practices. It’s an extremely important aspect of life, but what I have observed is, most of the people lag in that. I personally believe and trust in the timing of life. Well, today in this blog post I am going to share with you, how to trust the timing of your life.

“Trust the timing” of your life

We all were graduating in engineering in the year 2001. In those days, we college mates used to go and sit in college canteen and discuss about our career and life in future. It was only a month left; while we all were going to pass out from the college  and move ahead in life to achieve our dreams. We didn’t had those things at that time, and even didn’t knew when — or if — we’ll get them. We were discussing about where we would be down the lane after five years in life. All of us would be joining the new job in a month; we would get married after a year, have kids after couple of years, new house after 4 years and so on. We had chronological order of – how things will move in life after graduation.

But when I look back, not everyone got married after a year; few of them lost the job in between due to economic slow down. Some could not build their dream house. We all got graduated from the same college. I went to Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur for pursuing my MBA. After completing the post graduation, I started my career in 2003 and I got married in 2009. What I understood in the due course of time; everything happens on its own time; and I had to trust the timing of my life. I don’t get obsessed about future or regret about my past.

How to trust the timing of your life?

Everyone has their own time clock in their life. Our life moves according to our particular designed clock. Sometime we feel bad about the timing of incidents. Things do not come to us as we desire or as we plan. Everything happens at a particular time in your life. Trust the timings of your life. It means accepting the flow of life and going easy on yourself.  Trust that your life is unfolding in a perfect way and don’t try to control it.

Sometimes Life can become very complicated and unpredictable. You will find that; when you feel everything is going on as per plan or dream, some complex situation or event will arrive in life and things will get changed altogether. On the other hand, when sometime you feel negative and don’t expect things to happen, all of sudden things will happen magically. You must trust the timing of your life. Trust that your life is moving forward with a purpose. Here are the strategies that will help you to trust the timing of your life.

Every one has time zone

When you look around, you will find that someone graduated at the age of 24, but waited 4 years before getting a good job. Some one married at the age of  25 but did not have kids till 32, where  as the other got married at 29 and had first kid at 30. Someone became a CEO at 24, and died at 52, while another became a CEO at 52, and lived to 85 years. Someone is still single, while someone from his school group has become grandfather.

Sant Kabir got self actualization at the age of 32, where as Samrat Ashoka achieved it at the age of 52 after Kalinga War. Obama retired at 55 & Trump started at 70. Everyone in this world have his/her own timing and things works based on their time zone.

People around you might seem ahead of you & some might seem to be behind you. But everyone is running their own race, in their own time. Do not envy them. They are in their time zone, and you are in yours.

Trust that your life events are unfolding in a perfect way and you have very little control over them. You must live in the present moment and enjoy it, without obsessing about future and regretting for past.

So, relax. You’re not late. You’re not early. You are very much on time.

Patience

There is a famous quotation – “Two things define you: your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.” Patience is of utmost importance in your life. When you do not get the desired results, don’t get disappointed.  Have patience, few things take time to get done. A mother has to wait for 9 months to deliver a baby. There is a timing behind this which ensures a healthy baby. So, you must trust the timing of your life. Few things takes its own time and you will get that eventually.

Perseverance

In the above point, where we talked about patience, there is another soft skill perseverance which must go hand in hand. In the absence of desired results; even after full efforts , don’t get disappointed and never give up. Have perseverance and reorganize to achieve the same goal with more enthusiasm. You have better chances of achieving that goal as you have experience of previous failure. Believe in the timings of life, you will get the things done; when the right time will come.

Everything happens for a reason

I believe everything happens for good. In life; at particular point of time, when things are complicated many people’s mind start bugging that why all that happening to him/her. But after some years; when you look back and start connecting those dots of life, you will find that all incidents are interlinked. Things happen to make you more mature and prepared to deal the future challenges; with enhanced experiences and wisdom.

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” ~ Steve Jobs

Whatever happens in your life; trust that it has happen for a reason. That every person who enters your life, every change, every incident, every experience, every conversation, every little moment – good or bad, is all meant to be. The challenges and opportunities ; which come at different point of times in your life have greater purpose for future.

Don’t compare

Here is biggest mistake what most of us do – comparison. Never ever compare yourself with others. Different people have different abilities, competence and resources. They may have what you don’t have; you also have what they may not have. Over watching what they have is over-looking what you have.

And above all as I said earlier; we all have different time clocks in life. For few people, life clock moves faster for some time duration; where as for some, it moves at slower pace. Relax and trust the timing of your life. You will figure out your career. You will find the right relationship. And finally, you will become the person you always wanted to be. Comparing your life with others is not going to help you in any way.

Don’t rush for things

Other important thing is don’t run for things in life. Things will come in their own way when the time comes. If few things do not turn around for you in life , do not get disappointed . Everyone does not get all the things in life.

Stay optimistic, calm and composed and take your time to find out the way that will lead to success. Rushing out for the things without SMART goals and concrete execution plan often results in failure. Respect the time required for all this homework.

Put your efforts

Well when I say – Trust the timing of your life, It doesn’t mean to sit idle and do nothing. It also doesn’t mean to leave everything on fate and stop putting in your required efforts. What it does mean is to have faith and believe in the flow. You should be mindful and concentrate on the process (present moment) and not to worry about the end result (Future).

“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.” ~ Maya Angelou
